A Little Bit About Me...

I designed and implemented lesson plans for 11th and 12th grades:general chemistry and Mathematics concepts. I taught chemistry at the Undergraduate(BS) level: Physical chemistry and Organic chemistry. I taught mathematics at the middle school and high school levels. I motivated students to develop a keen interest in the subjects (chemistry or math) by inviting speakers to talk about their application in day-to-day life and also in industry or business which will enable them to find a rewarding career.
Relate the subject matter to real life examples as far as possible. Sometimes, it is not easy. Then I take recourse to humor, most of the time laughing at myself. I earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry with a minor in math. During my time at Hampden-Sydney College, I was a math tutor, computer science tutor,and a physics tutor. I started tutoring my junior year of college where I just tutor math and computer science. I mostly help students with Calc I and Calc for Econ problems. In my senior year, I continued to tutor math, but I tutored stats instead of calculus. I also tutored physics.
I first start by explaining the material the way that I understand it. I also show examples to show how the problems are solved. If it doesn't seem to be taking then I start to break the problems down into simple steps and explain each step until the student understands. I also try to relate the material to them so they can relate to the material on a more personal level so that the information will stick with them better.
