I have been teaching in different areas and capacities for three years now. I started by teaching English to Korean students in Daegu, South Korea. Here I taught all different skill levels and ages. When I returned to the United States I began working at Sylvan Learning Center. I was responsible for running the center. Here I was trained in many of the Sylvan Learning methodologies and feel very comfortable in identifying obstacles that hinder a students progression. At which time I incorporate learning strategies that help them get over the "hump"
My style is easy to get along with. I am friendly with my students but am able to keep the boundaries of the teacher student relationship in play at all times. I do not believe in giving students answers but rather leading them towards a natural discovery of the answers on their own.

Both settings of education included years of math and science, and in high school four years of writing, English, and history. I worked at LearningRX as a cognitive skills trainer where I worked with students who were having difficulty in school and I was able to find their areas of difficulty and help build those areas up while also helping with their memory, visual acuity, and processing speed.
I like to have a relationship with the students I tutored where they feel comfortable with me; I want them to be able to tell me the problems they're having with the work and what I can do to help.
