I AM THE BEST!

I am currently a history teacher and have been teaching for 5 years. I received my BA in history from VCU in 2007. I went on to teach for one year before I entered into a graduate program at the University of Maryland, College Park. While in Maryland, I taught full-time and went to school full-time. I taught honors government and U.S. history. I now teach geography and world history. I also anticipate teaching AP U.S. history this school year.
I use a "student-centered" approach. I like to tap into the student's prior knowledge first so I can meet him/her where he/she is. I am a fan of assessments. They can either be verbal, nonverbal, formal, or informal.

A Little Bit About Me...

As far as I can remember I have always appreciated quality education. As a small boy I remember going to the small local library in Portsmouth, Virginia where the Librarian once said that she knew that if she would only have one patron for the day that it would be me. I have worked in three libraries during my career. During college I was selected as a Librarian Assitant based on my interest, academic achievement and overall poitive conduct at the university. After college later on in my carer after college I worked at both the Main Branch and one of the other locations in the City of Richmond, Virginia. I believe that education is key to success early in life and that a good education make a sound foundation for later success in life.
