For the past 18 years, I have held various instructor positions in both the Active and Reserve components of the Army, providing instruction in such areas as Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Surgical Technique, Emergency Medicine, Combat Lifesaver and Sterile Processing. My extensive work in medicine as a surgical first assistant and instructor gave me a unique insight into the inner workings of the human body, in both the civilian as well as the military sectors. I have a passion for learning, teaching and helping others. I have earned a BS in mathematics as well as a MAE. I have over ten years of experience tutoring third grade through twelfth grade students and I am in my third year of teaching in public high schools. I believe with all of my heart that every child can learn and be successful with the right tools. As an Americorp participant during my early college years I learned of the many joys that teaching can give. I have a BS in general studies and very close to a BS in psychology, criminal justice, and English. I have taught at a college for 3 years, substituted for various school districts for 2, and I am currently finishing a full-time jr. High teaching position at Immanuel Christian School. I love one on one or small class sizes. Each child is so different in their own way and each have such a different learning style that I like to take it slow and be personal with each student.
