For most of my professional career, I was a senior financial administrator in the non-profit sector. After receiving my Doctorate in 2002, I moved from an Administrative position to a Faculty position at the University of Massachusetts. For the past 8 years, I have worked as a professor of Accounting and Finance at a variety of universities and colleges. A Little Bit About Me...

I was the valedictorian of my graduating high school class and one of the top high school math and science students in the nation, but I was not always a stellar student. For instance, I received a “D” in math in the second grade. I attribute my transformation to an "A" student at least partially to my third grade teacher in whose class my math grades improved dramatically and I jumped from the lowest to the highest reading group. She helped boost my confidence, made me feel like I could actually do better, and made me excited about learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I am extremely flexible with my teaching style. I do not believe in the "one size fits all" approach that seems to be popular in text books and structured lesson plans. I believe it is important for a teacher to be able to shift gears mid lesson or adapt to each student as the need arises. Because I had to teach a wide range of ages in Prague, I had to change my style for almost every lesson I taught as I taught them. I believe ANY person can be taught given the proper tools.
