A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in diversity in teaching styles because each student is unique and each has different abilities in various areas. As a substitute in the Woodburn School district I could pick up material quickly and teach in various teaching styles depending on the classroom.
After graduation, I taught on a transitional teaching license. I taught in the Woodburn School District. I then went to Japan and taught English as a second language. I grew up between Bolivia and the United States and speak Spanish and English fluently. I took statistics in university and taught math in Spanish from time to time as a substitute for the Woodburn School District. In Woodburn I taught a self contained classroom for a while. In addition to completing accounting courses for my B.S. in Accounting, I completed two courses in Child Development and Education, and all college level math courses through Calculus. I have tutored students in math since 1989. At Juniper Elementary in Bend, OR, I was a Good News Club teacher and volunteered as a reading specialist working to improve reading skills of struggling students. I also teach music lessons, group and individual. I received teacher training through CEF. With my love for teaching, I have enjoyed the honor of homeschooling my 4 children who test as gifted and talented and exceed in all areas on their testing.
