I began my college career admitted at age 17 to a competitive Bachelor of Nursing program at Boise State University. I took courses in Science, Math, Chemistry, Psychology and Health before I transferred to Brigham Young University-Idaho to pursue Horticulture. BYU-I has one of the top Horticulture programs in the country (as recognized by PLANET). I competed for BYU-I as one of the front most students in 2 years of PLANET competitions. I personally finished twelfth of all 900 students competing and helped take our team to both a 1st and 2nd place finish. I am a young teacher, but passionate about the subjects I teach to my students. When I was teaching biology, a class would generally start with a warm-up to review the previous day’s material and then progress to the presentation of new topics through lecture and note taking. I used various activities and labs for reviewing and reinforcing what was learned. Class ended with a few minutes of review for closure.
