I first started teaching in 2003 as a substitute to supplement the income from my guiding business during the slower portion of the year. After showing that I was very capable in the classroom and could quickly develop a strong rapport with coworkers and students, I was hired for the year when another teacher left unexpectedly. I went to school for the next year at the University of Kentucky, did not finish my degree, but earned enough credits to be hired by to teach in their Alternative School. I am a graduate of Chico State with a BS in Computer Science and I was a student of their honors program. I was not a formal tutor, but I spent a lot of time with junior classmates helping them to understand their projects and meet their deadlines. After graduating, I worked as an instructor at Mendocino College. I taught computer science classes to young adults from different backgrounds and with different learning styles.
