Essentially my teaching style is through showing the proper tools to use for solving an algebra problem. Once the proper tool is understood, algebra is just like following a series of instructions, much like a cookbook. From past personal experience, I understand how confusing and intimidating algebra can be. I will strive to make my students confident with their algebra skills. I recently finished my PhD. in biomedical engineering at UCLA. I also have a background in rocket propulsion analysis. With my skills, I am fully confident I can teach and tutor algebra. I chose to earned my BS in Microbiology and minor in Chemistry because it was one of the hardest major. I did this in four years while married with three children. I enjoy challenges like this because I believe that with dedication, practice, and passion anyone can accomplish whatever goals they set out to do. I've always have had a passion for children and teaching children. My 10 years experience in being the Director of Children Ministry at my church has enabled me to be creative, open minded and flexible when dealing with educating young minds. I believe that all children have the potential if they had someone to help them fuel their fire within them...so they can see the gold ring when they reached for it!

I am a 'relaxed' teacher, but maintain - or try to maintain - a good study pace. The individual I may be tutoring may require different approaches to try and learn the material at-hand; however, I have always found that with a positive attitude and a constructive approach to any learning 'issue' the solution is normally found between both the student and the tutor (as to the best study method works for the individual at-hand). As an undergraduate student at the University of California Santa Barbara I found and nurtured a love to pass-on learned experiences to others. The program I was heavily involved with was named MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement). As engineering student I was always dedicated to my studies,and I truly enjoy learning. During my high school and college years I was a swimming coach at the local swim club and that is were I realized my love for teaching. After moving to the U.S. I worked as a substitute teacher for the desert sands unified school district for almost 8 months before entering my CLS training program. I am currently working with the School of medical technology program to enhance the curriculum and better the educational experience. I am a person that is driven by the joy you get when a student finally understand something they didn't think they could. I am a teacher that will change my approach depending on the student and I will not stop until I am sure that they "get it". My strengths are physics, chemistry and math and i love making these subjects fun for all ages.
