A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate from BYU with a BS in finance and composite minors in accounting and economics, I moved into the medical management field. Within 7 years, I had taken a medical practice struggling to survive financially to a 3-physician, 2-midlevel practice. That experience launched a career. Other business background includes general management of a hotel/restaurant/touring company in a resort town. Later, I returned to school to complete an MA in theater. Here, I taught theater as an adjunct professor. I have also written and published a book and several one-act plays and variety shows.
I have a unique approach to teaching because my background is both analytical (numbers and science) and imaginative (theater and literature). I have earned an AA in Liberal arts, AS in Allied Health, and a BS in Biology which have enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math, chemistry, genetics and science. I was a Chemistry lab assistant at a JC for a year, during which I aided and tutored chemistry students with their general and organic chemistry needs, and prepared classroom instructional materials and labs for all the Chemistry classes. In addition to tutoring peers and friends at the JC, I helped students at the CSU I attended with everything from chemistry and genetics to physiology and cellular biology. I also have ample experience tutoring grammar school kids, grades 3rd through 8th, in language arts, math, chemistry, and all other sciences.
