I enjoy working with children of all ages. I have a son with a learning disability whom I am now home-schooling. I realize that patience is key when teaching. However, I also feel that children do best when they are presented with a challenge. I use a great deal of encouragement and incentive to help a child achieve his/her goals. I enjoy watching children learn and grow. I believe there are different teaching techniques for each individual student. I have come to learn this because of my younger sibling who didn't fit into the mold of a typical public school student. I am a firm believer in trying new things and new approaches. As a Bowling Green State University student who has studied Communication Disorders I have come across many experiences with children. Although, I have never been in charge of my own class room I consider my teaching style energetic. I love children and I love teaching children. I teach using a variety of methods. I have learned that children have different ways of learning. Some children are visual learners so I used plenty of visual aids when teaching these children. Some children are kinetic learners so I made sure that I used manipulatives when teaching these children. I believe that all children have a "best way" to learn.
