My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : I have the ability to teach elementary Math and would do so anytime called upon.

Taught at two colleges in Mombasa, Kenya for 5 1/2 years. Memon college under the Memon board of Education and Jaffery institute of professional studies under the Khoja Itna Asheri Board of Education. Joined Tennessee state University where I pursued another Major in Special Education. I taught under Metro Nashville Public schools for for short while at Neely's Bend Middle school. Since 2011 I have been working as a full time teacher under Clarksville Montgomery county schools as a behavior support Program Teacher. I have been successful in preparing students in transition back to regular education. I continue to work with them on a regular basis, but it has been interesting working with them on a regular basis. My teach style is different for each pupil. Everyone learns differently and once I get a feel for how they learn easiest, I conform my teaching style accordingly, using personal interests and incentives if progress is made.
I have throughout my entire grade school career been both a tutor and a mentor. As young as in nine years old in fourth grade I was selected to tutor kindergarten children in mathematics. As I grew older, I continually tutored my peers in a multitude of subjects, math being the prominent and my best subject. I have always possessed a love of helping others to learn. It brings me great joy to witness when an individual grasps a concept which they have been having difficulty with. I tend to use a demonstrator style of teaching by first working through a problem slowly while asking the student questions to ensure that they understand what I am doing. Then I help them work through similar problems while providing help until they fully grasp a concept.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked for an after school program for the past five years. In this position I was able to tutor students and help them with their homework. The experience I have is with students in grades kindergarten through 4th grade. I did my student teaching in a preschool and a 2nd grade classroom. In the after school program and the student teaching experience I helped students with all school subjects including english, math, science, social studies and reading.
I pride myself on helping students have fun while learning. I believe that if a student is not enjoying themselves they will not learn. I have always had an interest in teaching. I graduated from college with my AA while working with the University of Michigan Department of Hospital Finance Training. From there I took some time off to finish my degrees. While going for my BA I worked with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was elected President of the Auxiliary and of the District. I take each child as their own individual knowing they have their own needs in learning a subject. I teach in several different ways as to ensure the child grasps what they need.
