A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a full time classroom teacher for 13 years. I teach all subject areas. I have experience teaching grade levels K-12, primarily at the middle school and high school levels. I have extensive experience teaching special education students.

As a tutor with Webster University's student literacy corps, I worked with individuals, pre-K-adult, on reading, literacy, and writing skills. I held this position for two years along with a summer position tutoring Algebra and French with HEC Upward Bound, which service at-risk youth. I found both programs extremely enjoyable and found that all of my students were eager to learn and improve their skill set.
It has been my experience that each student has his/her individuals needs and that each learns differently. Thus, I make a conscious effort to sit down privately with each of my students so that we can address his/her concerns effectively and put together a constructive plan to improve his/her skill set.

Throughout my college years, I was involved in coaching high school aged students in baseball as well as younger kids in a baseball camp. During my last year of college, I helped with a after school tutoring program that included students up to the sixth grade. All subjects were covered and tutoring was done in one-on-one as well as small group settings. My bachelor's degree is from a self designed major I had developed to best fit the needs I saw beneficial for teaching in a non-traditional classroom environment. I later accepted an internship that fell in alignment with this self designed major working in the St. Louis Science Center.

As a practicing attorney, I have spent the past four years teaching my clients to navigate the often intimidating legal process. In 2006, I received my Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Law with a concentration in criminal litigation. I received my undergraduate degree (B.A.) in Political Science from Saint Louis University in May of 2003. In the fall of 2006, I worked as a substitute teacher for the Fox School District in Jefferson County, Missouri.
