My comments on tutoring Political Science : I have a liberal arts degree in international studies and experience in the area.

Though my primary field is sociology, I am versed in Liberal Arts due to my experience and background. Not all students are sociology majors and thus, not all students respond to a sociological manner of thinking. By presenting primary documents, government documents and other sources, I am able to draw out the contributions of a variety of students. I am especially pleased to present visual material to students who have not regularly engaged with such texts, and are surprised at how much a picture of movie has to say about sociological ideas and its connection to contemporary world. It has been my experience that each student has his/her individuals needs and that each learns differently. Thus, I make a conscious effort to sit down privately with each of my students so that we can address his/her concerns effectively and put together a constructive plan to improve his/her skill set.
As a tutor with Webster University's student literacy corps, I worked with individuals, pre-K-adult, on reading, literacy, and writing skills. I held this position for two years along with a summer position tutoring Algebra and French with HEC Upward Bound, which service at-risk youth. A Little Bit About Me...

Since I have been coaching, I knew that I wanted to continue with passing on my knowledge to others. I believe that through teaching the passing of my knowledge can be most rewarding. Although I have worked with students in various fields and of various ages, I get the most satisfaction from watching a student succeed from diligent hard work and personal commitment to learning the task at hand. I am a successful business woman who has taught for the last 15 years. What makes me successful as a teacher or tudor lies in the fact that I bring concrete proof to the student on what they need to learn. I motivate them to getting through on this study.
