Education has been my passion and dream for as long as I can remember. Furthermore, I followed my dream and graduated from Cal State California with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies and a concentration in History. Due to my education I am exceedingly familiar with classroom settings and the professionalism that comes with it. I also have accumulated plentiful hours of observations in different classrooms, along with many hours of volunteer help in numerous elementary and preschool classrooms. I believe that the goal of education is to teach children that leaning can be fun and meaningful. I think that this can be done by making sure that the learning environment is rich with multiple resources for students. There should be manipulatives for math, and all learning should be hands-on and active to meet the needs of every type of learner in the classroom. I believe that the role of the teacher should be as a facilitator where the teacher acts like a mentor and guides learning. The teacher should be an expert in everything that is being taught but should expect the children to guide their own learning. A teacher should hold high expectations on their students and should always follow through on those expectations. The student's needs come first, so I always teach based on their long-term goals. Learning music should be fun, so I encourage this while pushing student's to be the best. Music has been the most important thing in my life for all my life. I love to bring that passion out in my students. Flute is a tool, a wonderful tool, for speaking the language of music. I am a working, free-lance flutist here in LA. I have my BM degree in flute performance from CSUN, and have been playing for 28 years. I have always been the top or one of the top players in all venues I have played for. I currently play for many orchestras in southern california. I have been teaching all levels of flute for 20 years now. I also teach beginning to intermediate piano. Over a span of nearly 30 years, I have studied with some amazing flutists/teachers, and learned some wonderful teaching techniques.

As a Model Coordinator for Pure Fashion, a Catholic-based program sponsored by Regnum Christi, I assisted in the development of seventy Pure Fashion models, ranging in age from 14 to 18, to become confident and competent leaders in their communities guided by faith and with respect for human dignity.
