I think teaching style should depend on the student. Some people move at different paces or learn better from listening or from doing the work themselves with supervision and help. I am flexible with any style and once I become familiar with a person it becomes easier to see how they learn best.
I have been attending Northern Illinois University for the past 3 years and so far have had a great experience. I am double majoring in Spanish and geography and have had good success in both subject areas with a cumulative GPA of 3.95. They are both interests of mine and I have definitely improved during my time at NIU. I am direct without being overpowering. I have learned how to help the student come to the right answer compared to explaining why the answer is what it is. Talking them through the thought process of the problem is the first step to solving the problem on their own.
