By the completion, in May, of my graduate degree, I will have taught 45 hours of undergraduate English courses in Composition/Rhetoric, Business Writing, Literature, Creative Writing and Essay Writing. I have also, in previous summers, taught college-prep English classes at Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane, Washington. In a nutshell, I taught high school English for eleven years. I am passionate about all facets of education in the classroom and the real world. I have much to offer my students whether it be a love of literature, grammar and vocabulary or life itself! I love to teach.
My teaching style is one of discipline and at the same time hands-on. Students must feel the relevance of the world around them in order to gain an understanding of what's being taught. I have taught either French or English, either in the classroom or as a private tutor, since 1989, when I was recruited as an undergraduate to teach Elementary French. For the next 5 years I taught all levels of French grammar and PhD readings, as well as first and second semester English Grammar and Composition courses while pursuing my MFA in Literary Translation (French and Spanish).
