The chance to tutor peers in high school was the initial spark towards considering education as a career. During my undergraduate studies the desire has grown as I was given the opportunity in the role of Teaching Assistant. I found from those experiences that I have an ability to gauge a student’s comprehension of the material during sessions. This allows me to make adjustments on-the-fly and in the process become more effective in accomplishing the objective. As a student at Lynchburg College, I have had the opportunity to serve as a Peer Assisted Study Session Leader in general and organic chemistry. I will complete my BS in Biomedical Science in May 2011, with a wide range a science experience, from immunology to organic chemistry. The past 3 years, I have led PASS tutor sessions helping classmates understand and learn the material.
