Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.

The best teachers that I've had and that have made the deepest impressions on me have been kind, generous with their time and understanding, as well as observant.
