My comments on tutoring PSAT : I have tutored several students in the math section of the PSAT.

I think that I am very clear and concise in my explanations of concepts. I am also very good at explaining concepts in multiple ways. So if a student doesn't get how to do a problem using one method, I can go over another approach. I'm a good listener.
I have been teaching math since 8/2000. I first began teaching in a large urban district and then switched to teaching in a private school. I have taught math at both the high school and middle school levels. The subjects I have taught include algebra I and II, geometry, AP Calculus AB,and middle school math. I have tutored math every year that I taught, and also tutored GED math for 1 year.

While still in high school and also during my college years, I was always helping others excel in education. Offering study sessions to elementary and junior high students helped me understand what brings out the best in each child. To earn my degree in Business Administration I had to constantly practice math and English. Taking computer classes in college and on the job training gives me first hand knowledge of computers. Making above average grades in science and social studies in school allowed me to help tutor other students while still in school. Teaching is not something I had initially aspired to but found I am a teacher and motivator by nature. I love the challenge of figuring what pieces, educational, each student is missing and helping them fill the their gaps to reach the next level and have things come together for them. I am very patient and try to make each session fun and interesting. I have been teaching and tutoring students of all ages for the last ten years. Having graduated with a BA in English, I have learned much about writing and the writing process that I believe could help students at all levels.
