New college graduate with teaching experience

I have experience in one-on-one teaching, but feel comfortable with no more than five students at a time.
I have 1.5 years of volunteer experience in teaching adult literacy. In this experience I have taught the alphabet, study/homework skills, basic consonant and vowel sounds, rules to the English language, and reading and writing. My sessions were one hour long, twice a week at the central library system.

A Little Bit About Me...

While in college myself, I tutored other students in college algebra. I also helped students with basic, intro level college math courses. I earned my nursing degree in May 2013. My favorite subjects are any type of math, sciences; to include biology, anatomy and physiology. I also received high scores in all of my college level English and composition courses.

I have worked with many kids for years whether it's babysitting or in a classroom. I can help with words and math and come up with ways for them to understand it at their own level. I'll do whatever it takes to make sure they understand and aren't frustrated. Many kids fall in love with me just because I am such a fulfilling person and easy to get along with. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching experience began in high school, when I would review and edit my classmates essays. On several occasions, I also went through essays line by line. In addition, I taught swim lessons to preschool aged children, and helped coach crew to high school aged students. Throughout college, I continued to aid my peers with their essays, and often participated in workshops outside of class. As a writer, I have extensively studied methods of teaching to English Language Learners, and native speakers alike. I have also conducted research in rhetoric studies and language acquisition. Throughout college I was a tutor with a Learning Center. I worked with children in grades K-12. At this center, we helped build reading and math skills individually and in groups. I was also a private tutor for a high school student. Together we improved her study skills and organization. I assisted her with writing assignments, projects, and daily homework. I also worked in the Camden County school system as a substitute teacher and secretary. At Mercer University, I earned my BA in Communications and Theater Arts, and an English minor.
