My last position in public accounting was as a Senior Tax Manager. With Courtaulds Coatings I was the US Tax Manager, I prepared the income, franchise, excise, GST tax returns, managed the staff for sales tax preparation and compliance as well as managed all the audit activities for each. I have nearly a quarter century of experience as an auditor, accountant, financial analyst, HR administrator, etc. My career has been spent at large corparations, small businesses, government agencies and as a free lance independent contractor.
I think the best way to teach is to try to find examples that my students will relate to when it comes to instruction. Students can have very different life experiences, which can help, or hinder, their ability to learn certain subjects. I enjoy the German language very much and love explaining how it works to students. Though students learn in different ways, practicing both written and conversational German is imperative to be successful in mastering the language.
As a student of German at Bellarmine University, I was able to learn the German language through immersion experiences in Austria and Germany. Great Question. I have been in classes where I found learning a challenge. This is what makes me unique as a teacher. I build a relationship with the student. I do my best to not only explain the material, but how they can possibly use it in the future. I also have the best patience.
