During my college years, I have been working towards a degree in Early Childhood Education. I graduated on May 11, and will soon be getting my teaching certificate for elementary education. I have helped elementary students in and out of the classroom. I also tutored fellow peers when they were struggling with certain subjects.

Once I graduated I was immediately hired as a long term substitute teacher in South Georgia. I wasn't offered a teaching job for the next school year so I moved here to Spartanburg, SC. I obtained a job at a headstart and a tutoring facility.Then in November 2012 I was hired on at SC School for the Deaf and the Blind. I have taught and tutored many students and adults in a variety of subjects. I enjoy tutoring in math the most because I love this subject. Although this is my favorite, I still enjoy helping people excel in troubling subject areas. As a teacher, I know that each student/ person learns in a different manner. Due to this my teaching methods vary with every person.

I have 17 years in the classroom and 5 years of education to attain this. I still make myself available to help any student who needs it even though I have left the classroom. I have also substituted for 3 years at all grade levels. I have had to write many papers during my educational experience. My students had to write essays as part of their testing and do extensive research to write papers to enhance their experience in the classroom. All students learn at different levels. I like to incorporate all the learning styles of students. Some learn by hands-on, others by listening, and some by writing. These are all used by me. Each student has their own learning style and a teacher has to help each find what works for each student and then incorporate this to meet the needs for that particular student.
