I earned my A.A. in Theatre Arts at College of Central Florida in Ocala, Florida. I then moved to Lakeland and earned my B.A. in Theatre Performance at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. Last summer I was an assistant teacher for the summer camp at the Civic Theatre in Ocala, Florida.
I teach the basic concepts of acting through Stanislavski and Chekhov. I focus on character development as well as scene analysis. A Little Bit About Me...

I really like working with children from low income families. I think each child has a different interest and way of learning. I try to discover these learning styles before I begin the tutoring process. I try to allow them to be comfortable and having fun during our sessions. Most of the time I do a lot of question/conversation responses to allow them to find the answer for themselves. I like a problem based learning style, even for the youngest of children. I not only want to teach them how to properly concur their learning material but how to find the information they need if they do not know the answer. My teaching style is very specific to each student I tutor. I try to tailor my thoughts so that any student at any level in the subject can understand me. At the teaching center, the focus was to help guide the student to get the correct answer and not just give the answer. Sometimes the thinking process to achieving the correct answer is more important than the answer itself. I also try using diagrams and figures when they are called for to explain some of the topics. I frequently use positive reinforcement so the student feels even more encouraged to learn.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that tutoring is a great way to assist teachers. The reason I say this is because teachers often have many children in their classes and as a tutor I would be able to work one on one with a child who might need a little extra attention.
