My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : The past 25 years I have beenn teaching Reading, Language and Arts in the Oklahoma Public School System. When it comes down to my teaching style I believe that Vygotsky's Sociolinguistic theory just about sums it up because I believe that the best way for people in general to learn is by conversation. I believe that for students to really learn and comprehend a particular idea they must be be able to talk it through. Also, I believe that children learn better with a more kinesthetic approach. When the child has a chance to get themselves involved in it they are usually able to recall the information better.
