Tutor for the summer

I use the iPad (excellent resource) books, worksheets and materials I make to fit the situation.
I am a speech therapist with 11 years and experience. I have worked with students pre-k through 12th grade, primarily pre-k through 5th grade. I have extensive experience working with students on reading comprehension, answering and asking questions, semantics of language (antonyms, synonyms, multiple meanings of words, attributes, categorization), syntax, grammar, phonics and much more! I have mainly worked with kids with disabilities, including autism, developmental delays, communication delays, speech and language impairment, and Down Syndrome. I have also worked with students on math skills. I am also very comfortable with tutoring in areas such as GED preparation, as I am good at math, reading, writing, science and history.

A Little Bit About Me...

In graduate school, I developed a management style, Egalitarian Leadership. The faculty encouraged me to submit my paper to Harvard Business School. Currently, I am writing a middle school age novel. Prior to this, I wrote a newspaper column for two years in California. I also score state proficiency tests for Pearson Educational Measurement, K-12.
It is my experience that an instructor delivers more learning when a student has an interest in the subject. "Inspire rather than require," has far greater efficacy in delivering information. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a professional instructor pilot for 20 years teaching pilots from over 30 different countries in English and Spanish. I have a BS in Zoology, an MA in Information Management, and am working on an MS in Aeronautical Science. I have ten years grammar school, high school (AP), and college level Spanish and lived two years in Colombia South America as a Christian missionary.
