I am majoring in psychology and minoring in math. I have interests and excel in both of these areas. I will be graduating my BA degree in Dec 2010 in Psychology Departmental Honor, and a math minor from Georgian Court University. I took 20+ psychology college classes and 6 math college classes (incluing college algebra, Pre-Cal, Cal I, II and III, linear algebra, and discrete mathematics. A Little Bit About Me...

I have over twenty years teaching in the public and private schools in New Jersey. I have taught English, Math, Social Studies, and Business. I am a NJ state certified teacher in elementary and secondary education and recently completed my special education certification so that students requiring special educational accommodations can be properly recognized and taught. I have earned a BA in Education, a BS in Business Administration and two Masters Degrees.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching strategy can be summed up in two words: encouragement and enthusiasm. I believe that once I have given a student the tools to succeed, he or she can do so - with enough encouragement. My students at Indiana University have all noted on their course evaluations that my encouraging and positive attitude has helped them improve their reading and writing skills. I also believe that in a tutor, enthusiasm for the subject matter is key. I am incredibly enthusiastic about reading, writing, and grammar, among other things; I know that I pass this enthusiasm on to my students. Once students are enthusiastic about a subject area, they are much more likely to work hard and succeed in that subject.
