I really do not have a teaching style yet. A one on one setting is what I am used to. I am open to different teaching techniques depending on the help the child requires. The internet is available and has many different techniques to learning different subjects I can research as I see fit.
I have just received my BA in E-Business management with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am beginning my Masters in Criminal Justice in March and will continue to a Dr. in the same field when possible. My teaching style is one that is more interactive than instructional. I continue to be amazed while I observe the thought process and problem solving techniques, of the many different and varying individuals and personalities. I enjoy working with students on a one-to-one or small group basis. This is currently how I teach in the classroom. I have approximately 4-5 students in a harp class and privately I teach one-to-one. I enjoy getting to know students and find out what makes them tick. I especially enjoying working with elementary and middle school students.
I have 15 years experience as a private music teacher. I have taught flute, harp and piano to students from age 5 to adult. I have been a classroom teacher for 5 years. I recently finished the requirements to receive my teaching certification but have not filled for it yet (I plan to have it by the fall). I graduated from Coe College in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have taught preschool for 5 years, 5th grade in the Hillsborough County School District for 4 years and am currently teaching 2nd grade in Hillsborough County. I was a stay at home mother for 7 years.
