My teaching style is Socratic. I find out where the student's understanding lies, and then I lead them through the process of discovery. This is an interactive process. I do not believe that a student will stay involved if they are not actively engaged. Math is somewhat different. After breaking down the method of problem-solving used in the student's textbook, I would guide them step-by-step through the problem-solving process. In May 2010, I graduated from Bradley University earning two bachelor degrees, BS in Mathematics and BS in Economics, and I graduated in the top ten percent of my class, earning Summa Cum Laude. Growing up, I noticed that it was very hard for certain students to grasp certain concepts because they were not engaged in the teaching method. It is no secret that everyone learns a certain way, and no two ways are ever the same.
