In May 2010, I graduated from Bradley University earning two bachelor degrees, BS in Mathematics and BS in Economics, and I graduated in the top ten percent of my class, earning Summa Cum Laude. While in college, I had the opportunity to partake in our tutoring program that our university runs. Starting as a sophomore, I had the privilege to tutor students in college algebra, calculus, statistics, high school math, and economics. I have two bachelor degrees, one in computer science, the other in mathematics with a type 09 cert (6-12). I belong to Mensa and the NCTM, and have excellent English and decent Spanish speaking and writing skills. I have taught and tutored in mathematics and computer science for quite awhile, and I earned a 95% on my PSAT and a 32 on my ACT.
Generally, I'm a constructivist, and I believe the best method of tutoring is providing a completely individuated scaffold for any student. While I was raised in old-school education, I believe that some of the newer techniques of education through hands-on, the use of digital technology, and through writing across the curriculum are effective for many students.
