I have worked with the following populations throughout the many years of professional experience: mental health patients - (children & adults), special needs, developmentally disabled, people with learning disabilities, those with ADD/ADHD, Children, Adolescents, and Adults of varying ages and skill sets. I know some sign language so I am able to communicate with others who have little to no hearing. I have worked within the schools and have experience aiding students. Hearing Impaired is one of my top subjects! I have been a classroom teacher of deaf and hearing impaired children and teens for eight years. I am able to use sign language to communicate. I can also use cued speech and oral methods.

I have been a classroom teacher and a tutor for children, teens and adults who are deaf, hearing impaired, speech/language impaired, social/emotional impaired, cognitive delay, autistic, ADHD, etc. I have also taught early childhood children from birth. I can communicate using sign language and cued speech. I have experience teaching dyslexic children, teens and adults using the Orton-Gillingham philosophy. I am Pro-Literacy certified and I am a STAR certified trainer.

Throughout my undergraduate years, I knew that educating youth was something I was very passionate about so I made sure to not ignore my passion. I completed a minor in Education including such courses as: Classroom Reading, Evaluation and Measurement in Education, Core Classroom Management Strategies, Intro to Special Education, and Young Adolescence. Also, I have had several hands-on experiences including, an opportunity to tutor students one-on-one at an elementary school, and to serve as a classroom assistant at both an elementary and middle school.
