In my 40+ years of experience in the field of education, I have taught full time at all grade levels, from pre-school to teacher training. In the field of adult education have taught writing to Chinese-speaking adults, which enabed them to pass the California teacher exam. I have taught remedial reading classes, and after-school tutoring programs at education centers and in individual homes.
My teaching style centers around the value of the students. They deserve respect and are required to give respect. My students are generlly relaxed in my classroom, but expected to work to their best ability. To that end I try to present material in a variety of ways, to address the various learning styls of the students, and discover methods to remedy weaknesses and build on strengths.
