I enjoy working with students and watching their growth and development academically. My approach to each student is different because I understand each will need a different approach. Initially with each student I identify his or her strengths and weaknesses with the material. While building on their strengths, I attempt to change their perspective towards the course material that seems difficult. For example, if a student is struggling with multiplication but has superior addition skills, I will use addition to help them understand multiplication. I have done student teaching at the high school level in Math, specifically, Geometry and Trigonometry. I created innovative new ways to use the materials on hand to reawaken students' natural mathematical curiosity and to exemplify the concepts of the courses. I have done one semester of long term substitute work in which I taught underprivileged children Physics and Physical Science. I had to design the curriculum from the ground up because they had rotating substitutes before I took over. As a motivated person, I attended UNCG as an undergraduate and graduate student while working full time. I have received both a BS and MS in Biochemistry.
