I love working with children. I've taught acting at the Durham Arts Council for three years. The duties from that position included directing students in performances which I helped them create. The plays were written around themes chosen by the camp director. So, in essence, the children and I would research those themes and develop stories which I would then turn into plays using my expertise. I will graduate from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Engineering Business. I have taken very high levels of mathematics, including Single and Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Probability. I have experience tutoring middle school students in Algebra all the way up to tutoring my fellow classmate in Differential Equations.
My favorite experience with tutoring was teaching algebra to 8th graders. I tried to take them through basic examples that thoroughly teach the overarching concept and then have them take that concept and apply it to examples with added functionality. I have found this works best because it pushes the kids to really learn the concepts.
