I have performed in the Furman Symphony Orchestra, Carolina Youth Symphony, Wren High School Chamber Orchestra, as well as numerous honors ensembles (All State Orchestra, All Region Orchestra, etc.). My comments on tutoring Violin : I have played for eleven years and taken private lessons.

I graduated from Presbyterian College with a double degree in biology and psychology and a minor in chemistry. Many of the courses I completed in biology were in the natural sciences such as paleontology, biogeography, and botany, which I flourished in. I also took organic chemistry I and II, biochemistry, and genetics, which I am good at as well. Although I have been self employed for the last 6 years, I went back to school last year to add Science and Math for middle school to my certification. I passed the Praxis for both of those subjects spring of 2010. I was not able to get a full time teaching position this year. I went back to working for myself but would love to tutor. I have tutored for 3 years while I worked for Tryon Elementary school. I had great success with the students I worked with, in particular concerning math. I am very qualified to work in a tutoring capacity.
I believe in good classroom management and organized lesson plans. I set appropriate boundaries and expect the students to follow the rules that are set before them.
