My style is relaxed. Many students appear frightened of math at first. I cover each subject well, allowing students to ask many questions. I encourage students to work problems while I watch, so I can catch them at the moment they make a mistake. I love teaching students of all ages, in basic math, algebra, statistics, and calculus. As a psychology major, at the beginning of my education, I discovered that I had a love and talent for mathematics. Thus I pursued a dual degree in Psychology and Math. As an undergraduate student at both my junior college and university, I was inspired to spread the joy of learning and understanding English. I have earned a BA in Global Studies and Maritime Affairs, which has enabled me to expand my knowledge base about international affairs and the maritime industry. This coming March I will graduate with a MS degree in Emergency Management. This degree has given me a fantastic background in understanding leadership and management techniques. During the past four to five years I have been employed as an English tutor by both the College of the Redwoods and the California Maritime Academy.
