Experience Summary
As an undergraduate student at both my junior college and university, I was inspired to spread the joy of learning and understanding English. I have earned a BA in Global Studies and Maritime Affairs, which has enabled me to expand my knowledge base about international affairs and the maritime industry. This coming March I will graduate with a MS degree in Emergency Management. This degree has given me a fantastic background in understanding leadership and management techniques. During the past four to five years I have been employed as an English tutor by both the College of the Redwoods and the California Maritime Academy.
Teaching Style
Teaching and working with children is something that I truly love to do. Everyone has a different learning style. Seeing the look of understanding and comprehension cross a child's face is one of the most rewarding experiences a person can ever have. It is with patience, understanding and constant encouragement that I inspire those around me to excel. Due to the fact that each individual child has a different learning style my teaching style will vary from child to child depending upon their needs. Each child has the one special teacher that they will remember for the rest of their life; I strive to be that teacher.
