I have been fortunate to teach students with Special Needs and Learning Challenges. In addition, I was able to teach Adult Basic education to inmates at a state prison. Due to the diversity of educational needs, I have been able to teach Math, Social Studies, History, Marine Biology, Horticulture, Biology, English, and Literature. During the past several years I have home-schooled my daughter and a several studentsby referral.
I enjoy seeing the "Light Bulb" come on when a student grasps a concept. I tend to defer to the students learning style and teach to their need and understanding. There is no feeling like the joy felt once a student grasps a concept you're trying to share. For that reason, I attempt to explain things in multiple ways. I also believe in honestly letting students know why and how their studies will benefit their future. A Little Bit About Me...

As a student at Florida State University, Panama City Campus, I have been learning how to educate and tutor children. I currently tutor two children at my local elementary school that are below level/struggling readers.I have been learning how to teach all five areas(reading, math, social studies, art, science, and language arts) that are part of a child's learning experience. I am very excited to student teach in the Spring of 2011 and start helping children more by tutoring. I have worked as a substitute teacher over the past few years in Washington County and have worked in all the grade levels.

As a student attending Florida State University's Civil Engineering program I was required to regularly learn, understand and apply complex mathematical equations, and scientific concepts to both hypothetical and real world problems. I was also required to regularly exercise my grammatical skills through regular lab reports. In regards to tutoring experience, as a high school student attending A.C. Mosley High School during my senior year it was requested by a M.A.P.P.S. (the school's AP program) guidance counselor to assist freshman and sophomore students who came into the office with subjects they were having difficulty with. More recently, as a student at F.S.U.
