I have both a bachelors degree and masters degree in business administration/management. Both of these degrees have given me a high level of knowledge in many areas such as finance, accounting, math in general, writing, and presentations/projects. Many of the things in life that we don't "get" are things we don't understand. When teaching, I try to break things down and simplify them so they can be easily understood. Often the kids in my class are those who do not like to be challenged, so I incorporate a lot of questions to provoke thinking and problem solving on their own. Since repetition is a key component to learning, I review a lot which requires patience but pays great dividends in the long run. I have been fortunate to teach students with Special Needs and Learning Challenges. In addition, I was able to teach Adult Basic education to inmates at a state prison. Due to the diversity of educational needs, I have been able to teach Math, Social Studies, History, Marine Biology, Horticulture, Biology, English, and Literature.
