A Little Bit About Me...

As a student of psychology, I have always been interested in using my knowledge to help others improve themselves. My experience teaching academic subjects is fairly limited, however, for the past four years I have volunteered as an assistant instructor at my martial arts school whenever my sensei has needed the help, which has given me ample opportunity to work on my teaching techniques with a wide variety of students. Currently I am working with a group of younger children on their advanced self-defense techniques, however I have worked with older children, teenagers and adults in the past.
I've always enjoyed the opportunity to explain things I'm familiar with to people who need it explained. A Little Bit About Me...

I taught preschool for 5 years and had a home day care center for 4 years. I have worked as a paraprofessional at Springfield Elementary for the 3 years and was an after school tutor for the SES program for 2 terms for two different companies. Although I have not yet applied for certification, I am eligible for certification for Elementary Education as I have passed the FTCE K-6 certification exam.
Children are individuals and you must find their style of learning and be able to adapt your teaching style for that child. I believe that you must geniunely love children and teaching to be able to reach children. They can sense when someone really cares. I have a passion for learning that I believe translates to the children I work with.

As a student attending Florida State University's Civil Engineering program I was required to regularly learn, understand and apply complex mathematical equations, and scientific concepts to both hypothetical and real world problems. I was also required to regularly exercise my grammatical skills through regular lab reports. In regards to tutoring experience, as a high school student attending A.C.
