My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : I have been a Special Educator for 40 years. I currently work with students in a Career Center. Many of these students have ADD/ADHD. I assist them with study skills and organizational skills. I have worked with all age groups over my career.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Special Education from Wayne State University. I also have a Masters of Arts in Education also from Wayne State University. I have been teaching Special Education to all ages for over 30 years. For the last 10 years I am a Special Populations Coordinator at a Career Center. I also taught at risk students in the summer for the last 15 years.
My teaching style is to get to know the student and their learning style first. Then make a plan with the content. Continue to evaluate for changes through student feedback.

While I was in college, I worked for my finacial aide as a tutor in all areas other than Math. Once I earned my degree I went right into teaching. After a year, I was hired as a college basketball coach. During this time I continued to tutor our student athletes in thier English work. I also taught the Physical Education classes for Majors. After having my son, I have rejoined the teaching field. I have been teaching 5th-8th grade Language Arts classes. I also teach reading.
