As a Substitute Teacher, Capital Area Intermediate Unit, I taught a variety of courses in mathematics and science in several school districts. As an adjunct Chemistry professor (Shippensburg University 2007 to present) I was the primary instructor for a section of general chemistry laboratory course as well as a section of chemistry for non science majors.
I value helping students learn difficult material. Mathematics and hemistry are two of the most difficult subject areas in which a student can study. In graduate school, I trained graduate, medical and high school students in various lab techniques and concepts. I also played a large role in managing their laboratory projects. A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a mid-career scientist who is looking to transition into the teaching profession. I have tutored high school and college students for several years in chemistry, algebra, physics, and geometry. I have a BS in Chemistry and have taken additional coursework in chemistry and education. I have extensive experience as a chemist working in the laboratory, and have several published research articles in the field.
My goal in teaching is to help students understand how the scientific process affects them on a personal level. I try to connect science and mathematics to the world around them by helping them to understand science in the context of other disciplines, including art and politics.
