A Little Bit About Me...

I am a senior chemistry major at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I have completed both semesters of general chemistry, organic chemistry one and two. I have also take inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, and biochemistry. I enjoy chemistry greatly. I have an overall GPA of 3.4 I am very comfortable with general chemistry as well as most organic chemistry. I just completed physical chemistry with a focus on thermodynamics. My comments on tutoring Chemistry : I completed two semesters of inorganic/general chemistry as an undergraduate, as well as two summer courses in organic chemistry.

I have experience working with students who are advanced and seeking supplementary tutoring as well as with students who are having difficulty with a subject. I have tutored mathematics as well as chemistry, biology, physics, and other subjects. I have tutored students from a range of ages and I worked with my first student over four years ago while I was in college.
I try to work with students to find connections between different aspects of the material that we're working on as well as to find connections to other subjects. I find that by relating specific topics to broader perspectives on a subject as well as related subjects, the student can gain a greater appreciation for the coherence and importance of a particular subject area.

Multiple Strategies Used to Manifest Understanding

I have worked in the lab of a major hospital in Lincoln for 5 years, previous to receiving my degree. I am currently working as a DNA extraction and analysis technician at a genomics lab in Lincoln, NE.
