I am currently finishing my first year in college. I have a High School diploma and an award as an AP Scholar. I enjoy math and I am passing my DS-71 math course with an A at Fresno State. I have recently declared my second major in teaching mathematics. In college, I am ahead by a semester since I transferred over 36 units for my degree. I teach in many ways through a book or how I was taught by my teachers. I am open-minded and try to figure out what is the best way to teach a person I am trying to help.

I have always had a passion for giving back to people. I love Math and English, In junior college I took 16 units (four classes) all dealing with english or liberal arts. My teaching 'style' is a bit unique, in my opinion. By that, I mean that every child/student 'learns' differently, so I must 'adapt' my style 'on the fly' after determining what is the most effective approach/style/method for that individual student. In addition, the subject that I am teaching also affects my style and some 'tools' that I learned as a youngster and a teacher are also implemented frequently. I was trained to be a teacher at CSU-Fresno, where I graduated in May, 1999. I substituted for 3 consecutive years in Fresno, Clovis, and Madera Unified School districts at grade levels 3-12. I received my Master's Degree in Sports Administration from the American Public University system in May, 2011, and graduated with Honors and a 4.0 GPA. I believe that children should be involved with their school work. Hands on work and visual interactions help when certain curriculums don't sink in.
