Through out my work with children diagnosed with autism I have learned and implemented B.F. Skinner's Operent Conditioning model. Although punishment is in the model, my specific teaching style only includes reinforcement using encouragement and praise to help your child reach his/her optimal potential. Working with children diagnosed with autism, I have learned patience and the ability to adapt each session as the student goes through their individual learning process. A Little Bit About Me...

I can teach children of all ages. I believe it is easiest to build rapport with the student before teaching them. If there is a good relationship between the student and teacher then it is easier to teach and learn. I use different styles of teaching that address all types of learners. I will incorporate visual aids, music, hand movements and other techniques to enhance the students retention of information. I have patience and like to use positive feedback to motivate my students.
I have tutored high school students at San Gorgonio High School in a variety of subjects for 6 months. In addition, I worked as an independent English tutor in Buenos Aires, Argentina for 6 months. When I was in high school I did two years of tutoring at Franklin Elementary. I'm currently employed at Club Z Tutoring and attend University of Redlands to obtain my teaching credential.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy seeing children discover the world around them in their own ways. Therefore, I teach the importance of working things out until you understand it for yourself. Children will meet and often surpass any goal that is given to them if you show that you believe in them. I use a hands-on approach, as much as possible, with a problem-solving emphasis. I firmly believe that a child remembers things more if he is able to work it out for himself. As a result, I take more of a mentoring position the older the child is. It was in this way that my daughter received both an AA and an AS degree the night she received her high school diploma.
