I have always had the ability to effectively teach my family, peers, and other classmates. However, I recently decided to get into the field of tutoring. My very first session, I fell in love with it. I am understanding that each student has different needs, different strengths and weaknesses. As a Merchant Marine and Chief Steward I have taught, tutored, or mentor kids of all ages and backgrounds. My passion when teaching is to try and breakdown the subject to it's most basic level. I have over 10 years of experience as a substitute teacher and a regular full time classroom teacher. My first position was teaching Japanese Language to middle school students in Salinas. These were for the most part first generation Americans of Hispanic background. I also taught hands on science at a private school where the children were mostly from India or Asia.
