My teaching style starts usually with a question to spark and interest, or perhaps another question. I idenify with the audience and that is extremely helpful. I am patient and enjoy when a student finds confidence by learning something new. I use some props and examples to aid a particular subject, and I speak English very well so there is no miscommunication. My principle idea of teaching is that no one learns the same. Having tutored a wide variety of students taught me that I have to be flexible and adaptive in explaining the subject. This allows me to adapt to the student I am tutoring in order to help them achieve their desired goal in understanding the subject. I began tutoring mathematics when I was still a student and this allows me to relate to the students. I earned a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University in 1984. My subjects of passion were math and science and I enjoy working with children who struggle in those areas. Starting in his second grade year, we were joined by a student who has learning disabilities. He also thrived in the tutorial teaching environment.
