My teaching, tutoring, style emphasizes flexibility. While there are specific learning units that should be taught and retained by the student, the flexibility of the teacher, or tutor, will assist the learning experience for the student. I have discovered that every students is capable of achieving greatness if someone will take the time and effort to learn their learning style. I pride myself in being able to break things down to the most basic levels if necessary in order to reach a student. Often you have to know a child's personality, background, and home life in order to understand what he or she relates to. I don't believe in teaching a subject, I believe in teaching a student. I also do not believe in giving up. If the first method doesn't work then we will continue to try until something clicks and that child grasps the material and excels at it.
