A Little Bit About Me...

I have discovered that every students is capable of achieving greatness if someone will take the time and effort to learn their learning style. I pride myself in being able to break things down to the most basic levels if necessary in order to reach a student. Often you have to know a child's personality, background, and home life in order to understand what he or she relates to. I don't believe in teaching a subject, I believe in teaching a student. I also do not believe in giving up. If the first method doesn't work then we will continue to try until something clicks and that child grasps the material and excels at it.

I have an associates degree in Computer Science/Engineering and a bachelor's in Mathematics Education with a minor in Psychology. I have over 25 years teaching/tutoring/test prep experience. I have also authored ACT test items and units for various textbook companies. I design, and deliver workshops for teachers across the state of Mississippi as a teacher/consultant for the National Writing Project. I am a high school honors graduate with a BA in English and teacher certification in English, Spanish, psychology, and special education. I am national board certified in special education.
