A Little Bit About Me...

I taught H.S. chemistry I & II in the Indianapolis area from 2001-2005. Entering college at Western Michigan U, I had plans on becoming a teacher, but went into the analytical research laboratory. I decided to go back and get my teaching license because I have a passion for education. I believe that the learning experience is wonderful and chemistry/science excites me. Sometimes I reflect back and consider how everything I see, touch, and smell is made from the elements on the periodic table. How can that be?

A Little Bit About Me...

I have 5.5 years at Michigan Technological University in the studies of Mechanical Engineering. I currently take classes at Kalamazoo Valley Community College in their certification for CAD Specialists. I have substitute taught in the pass for a few months, mainly elementary level kids. I also hold a minor in Foreign Language-German from Michigan Technological University. My passions are Math, Science and Computer Aided Design programs. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy tutoring those who are in Middle School or High school. I feel as though they tend to have a higher capacity for sustaining attention. Those are unique ages that can really build a foundation for later education. I believe that one-on-one time is essential in learning. Some people might learn well in a large group, but others learn much better when time is spent on explaing specific details. I find the most enjoyment when a tutee finally links the core concept and is able to solve more difficult problems on their own.

As a graduate of Andrews University, I was confronted with the task of completing a degree in the field of Engineering. With diligent efforts and a drive to overcome the academic challenges once faces as a student, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated in 1999 with a BA in Mathematics and studied with a concentration on secondary education. After being away from math for ten years, I recently returned to school (Western Michigan University) to study for my Master's Degree in Statistics, which is my preferred field of expertise. I am currently serving as a teaching assistant at the University teaching students math and statistics and tutoring on request. For a time I also worked as a pastor, thus I have learned much in the way of interaction with people in public and private settings.
